Friday was a big day in our house.
I woke up very tired because I had not slept much the night before. I was too stressed out over the notice I received on Thursday saying there was a warrant out for my arrest. Yes, you read that right. A Warrant. FOR MY ARREST. And it did not even come via registered mail, just the regular in-your-mailbox parcel post. Upon receipt of the letter, I hid it under a pile of papers and proceeded to frantically clean my house. If they were going to come and arrest me, at least I would have a clean house, becuase that is really what's important.
When we were laying in bed pre-sleep on Thursday night, I finally told Chad about the letter. Regarding the Warrant. FOR MY ARREST. He calmy said to call first thing in the morning and get it straightened out, like a normal adult would do. Duh. Sometimes he is so calm it kills me.
So I didn't sleep well that night, and we woke early on Friday morning to get my situation straightened out. Which meant we spent the morning driving all over the fucking county and paying the fucking local government a lot of money with mumbled, half-hearted apologies. Fucking fucks.
In the afternoon, we went to visit a litter of nine pit bull puppies. There are few things cuter than a puppy. Ella was enthralled by the writhing mass of furry puppy bodies. She would squeal, kick, stick her fingers in and pull them away. It was hard for me not to take one home, but with two full grown dogs already and one adopted out to my Dad, we decided it would be best just to visit.
We closed the day with a family walk through town - me pushing Ella in our crappy ass stroller and Chad walking the two overzealous dogs who had not been on a leash in, oh, six months or so. Despite the crappy ass stroller and the hyper dogs, it was a lovely walk and everyone came home completely worn out.
Big days like that are always so tiring, but I fell asleep last night feeling much better. I even slept the whole night through, uninterrupted.
