When Chad works out of town, there are two things that I do (or do not do, as the case may be): I do not eat, and I read, read, read.
How do single people feed themselves? Without Chad around to cook and share meals with, I find my appetite goes out the window. Why bother to cook a meal and deal with all those dishes when I am the only person eating it? This week I have eaten approximately six Ham and Cheese Lean Pockets, ten pots of coffee, and four jugs of CoffeeMate Coconut Cream creamer. I lose five pounds each time he goes away, but I gain it all back on his first day home when he cooks breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
This week's reading has been a collection of David Sedaris' short stories called Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. The stories are little tidbits about regular, non-spectacular, everyday life but holy god, they are so fucking funny. I find myself laying in bed laughing out loud when I read them. Go read it.
