Ella likes to dunk her head under the water.

I discovered this last night when I was giving her a bath. She wanted to drink the bathwater in her toy cup, and I kept pulling it away from her lips and saying, "Yuck." There's just something nasty about watching your child drink dirty bathwater filled with her own filth.

When she realized that I wasn't going to budge on the matter, she gave up on the cup, leaned her face down to the water, and started to lap it up like a dog. It was so bizarre that I couldn't stop her. Then, in order to get a nice big gulp, she dunked her whole face underwater. She was surprised at first and coughed and sputtered as water came out her nose.

But then she laughed, and I laughed, and so she did it again and again, wiping the water from her nose and eyes after each dunk.

I guess I won't need any of these hacks for keeping the water out of her eyes while I rinse her hair.
